  1. Gottorp Globe.
    Built in Germany in 1664. A water powered 3-1/2 ton, 10 foot diameter sphere that rotated once every 24 hours.
  2. In 1758 an 18 foot diameter globe was built by Roger Long in Cambridge Massachusetts.
  3. Atwood Globe 1913.
    Designed by Dr. Wallace Atwood in Chicago, Illinois. It is 15 feet in diameter, electrically driven and is still in use today at Chicago’s Adler Planetarium Museum.
  4. Kovac Planetarium
    22 feet in diameter, 2 ton, electrically driven with a variable speed motor controller.
